Al-Mirsad, in a security report, wrote that Hasib Panjshiri was a well-known commander of the Resistance Front and had been involved in anti-government activities in Panjshir in recent years. He was killed in a targeted operation by Taliban security forces while traveling toward North Salang.
According to an informed source who spoke to Al-Mirsad, in addition to “Hasib Qowai Markaz,” two of his companions were also killed, while nine other members of the group were arrested.
Abdullah Khanjani, head of the political office of Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front, confirmed the killing of Hasib Qowai Markaz in a video message.
The 35-year-old Hasib Panjshiri joined the special units of Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) in 2010 after completing military training.
He participated in numerous operations conducted by the agency in various parts of the country and was rapidly promoted to important security positions due to his field performance.
In 2018, after eight years of service, Hasib left the National Security Directorate.
Following the fall of the republic on August 15, 2021, Hasib Panjshiri and forces under his command joined the Resistance Front led by Ahmad Massoud and engaged in guerrilla warfare against the Taliban in the Panjshir Valley and the Hindu Kush mountains.
During this period, he became one of the key figures of the Resistance Front and participated in several anti-Taliban operations.
In recent years, images and videos of him in mountainous areas were circulated, indicating that he remained inside Afghanistan and continued to operate alongside resistance forces.
In one of his videos, he had emphasized that he would continue the armed struggle against the Taliban.
