The General Department of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs of Qom Province has announced changes to the registration and renewal process for free and voluntary health insurance for foreign nationals and migrants for the current year.
According to the announcement, due to the reduction in the health insurance quota allocated to vulnerable groups, the identification and registration of eligible individuals will now be handled through Residence Services Offices (Kefalat Offices) to ensure that eligible applicants are identified and selected more accurately.
Current Beneficiaries Must Also Re-register
All individuals who have benefited from free health insurance during the current year must visit their respective Kefalat office and complete the registration process in order to continue their insurance coverage.
The announcement emphasizes that failure to follow up and complete the required procedures on time will be considered a withdrawal from the insurance program, and their allocated quota may be assigned to another family.
Registration of New Applicants
Foreign nationals and migrants who meet the vulnerability criteria and do not have any type of worker card in their records must visit their respective Kefalat office to have their eligibility assessed and to register for voluntary and vulnerable-group health insurance for the coming year.
Accordingly, these applicants do not need to visit the General Department of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs of Qom Province. The eligibility assessment and registration process will be handled through the Kefalat offices.
Limited Quota and Priority-Based Selection
The General Department of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs of Qom Province has emphasized that the quota for health insurance coverage of vulnerable groups is limited. Due to reductions in the budgets of the relevant UN agencies and a decrease in the allocated quota, it will not be possible to provide insurance coverage to all vulnerable families.
Therefore, eligible families and new applicants are advised to visit their respective Kefalat office as soon as possible, bringing all relevant documents and supporting evidence, so that their eligibility can be assessed and, if they meet the requirements and sufficient quota is available, the registration process can be completed.
This announcement was issued by the General Department of Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs of Qom Province.
