Following the simultaneous visits of Turkish and Qatari security officials to Kabul, the Ministry of Interior spokesman said the two delegations discussed tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, the situation in Iran, and regional security cooperation during their meetings with officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Abdul Matin Qani said tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan were among the key issues discussed, with the sides emphasizing continued joint efforts to resolve differences and strengthen relations.

Abdul Matin Qani, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said: “One of the important issues on which Türkiye, Afghanistan and Qatar exchanged views during these meetings was the differences between Afghanistan and Pakistan. We all committed to working jointly to resolve this issue and strengthen relations, particularly among these countries.”

Qani also said the situation in Iran and the potential regional consequences of any deterioration there, particularly for Afghanistan, Qatar and Türkiye, were among the other issues discussed.

Abdul Matin Qani, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said: “The visit of high-level delegations from Türkiye and Qatar to Afghanistan is an important step toward strengthening and improving relations, particularly at the regional level and in the security and economic sectors. The visit will also contribute to improving and expanding political, economic and trade relations. These relations are based on mutual respect and the shared interests of countries in the region.”

Al Arabiya, citing a source, reported that although the Turkish and Qatari delegations visited Afghanistan at the same time, their visits were not joint and there was no coordination between the two delegations regarding their schedules.

According to the report, each delegation held separate meetings and followed its own agenda.

Mohammad Aslam Danishmal, a political analyst, said: “The purpose of the Turkish delegation’s visit is to help resolve the issue between Afghanistan and Pakistan, considering the agreement that exists between Türkiye and Pakistan.”

Roman Shirzad, a political analyst, said: “Although the visits were not coordinated, their objectives also have regional, political and intra-Islamic dimensions. Qatar, as a country with friendly relations with Afghanistan, has been involved in issues concerning the country.”

The Turkish delegation, led by the head of Türkiye’s intelligence agency, traveled to Pakistan after visiting Kabul and Kandahar. There, the delegation met with Pakistani security officials and discussed various issues, including Türkiye’s efforts to help reduce tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.
