In a statement, the Shiite Scholars Council of Afghanistan said that, according to reports received, a terrorist attack took place yesterday afternoon (Monday, 26 Asad) at Shama Hedayat School, located in the Mahdiya Township in western Kabul. The attack reportedly left dozens of people injured, with the condition of some of the wounded reported to be critical.

While strongly condemning the incident, the council expressed its sympathy and solidarity with the families of the injured and prayed to Almighty God for the immediate and complete recovery of those wounded.

Expressing concern over the possibility of similar incidents occurring again, the Shiite Scholars Council of Afghanistan stressed that the incident could increase concerns about the emergence of a new wave of terrorist attacks and insecurity in the capital, particularly in residential areas and educational centers.

In the statement, security officials were urged to thoroughly investigate all aspects of the incident, identify those responsible and bring them to justice, and adopt effective security measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

The council also called on the government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to prioritize the protection of the lives and property of citizens, particularly the security of schools, students, and educational centers, so that innocent people do not once again become victims of violence and terrorism.

The Shiite Scholars Council of Afghanistan further emphasized the need for responsible cooperation among the government, religious scholars, social institutions, and citizens to ensure sustainable security. It also called on the public to remain calm and vigilant and to report any suspicious activities or incidents to the relevant authorities.

At the conclusion of its statement, the council once again condemned the attack on Shama Hedayat School and prayed to Almighty God for the speedy recovery of the wounded, patience and strength for their families, and lasting security, peace, and stability for the people of Kabul and throughout Afghanistan.

Attacks on educational centers and residential areas in western Kabul have also been among the incidents in recent years that have raised widespread concerns about the security of citizens, students, and educational institutions in this part of the capital. In its latest statement, the Shiite Scholars Council of Afghanistan emphasized the need to take serious measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.
