Fadahossein Maleki, the Second Deputy Head of the Immigration Commission of the Iranian Parliament, has announced the drafting of a comprehensive immigration law and the establishment of new frameworks for the presence of foreign nationals in Iran.
In an interview with KhabarFori, Maleki stated that the drafting of the comprehensive immigration law is on the Parliament's agenda, and a joint commission has been formed to review and draft this legislation. The general outlines of the bill have been approved over the past few months.
According to him, the text of the law is currently with the Parliament's Legal Affairs Deputy for final legal and editorial revisions, after which it will be sent to the Guardian Council for review and approval.
The comprehensive immigration law precisely defines the conditions for temporary residence, permanent residence, and other types of residency for foreign nationals.
Furthermore, special capacities and opportunities have been considered for physicians, specialists, technical personnel, and individuals intending to invest in Iran. Under this law, the status and conditions of each group will be determined separately, and the Ministry of Labor will plan for the recruitment and organization of technical and specialist personnel in accordance with the country's needs.
If this law completes its final stages and receives approval from the Guardian Council, it could establish a new framework for the presence, residence, and activities of foreign nationals in Iran.
