Sources told the media on Monday, September 7, that the security situation in Herat city is deteriorating day by day, with people being killed openly in front of the public, while no one is taking action to investigate or prevent such incidents.
They said criminal incidents have become increasingly common for perpetrators, who carry out killings without fear and then continue to move freely around the city.
Herat residents added that people are being abducted in the city and their bodies are later found.
They also accused the Taliban of arresting, beating, or, according to them, killing “innocent people.”
These concerns come after a 30-year-old man was reportedly shot dead by the Taliban in Herat city on Friday after allegedly being tortured and beaten. The man was reportedly shot while his hands were tied.
